White Water Merit Badge
Laurel Highlands River Tours White Water Merit Badge Program can be customized to your troop's needs. There are some prerequisites to help keep cost affordable. Per Boy Scout requirements one must have earned their Canoeing Merit Badge prior to applying for the White Water Merit Badge. Your troop must provide one adult supervisor for the first twenty scouts and one additional supervisor for each ten after. Our instructor, of course, would make the second supervisor requirement for the first twenty as per Boy Scout regulations.
Our course can be accomplished in as little as one day or as long as four days. This will be determined by the amount of work the boys have completed on their own.We can provide all the instruction needed to take them from right out of the canoeing Merit Badge program to the White Water Merit Badge program to completion of their White Water Merit Badge. This would be our four day class which would cover full participation in all twelve requirements as stated in the Boy Scout Merit Badge Book. To help keep cost down you can elect to have your troop practice on flat water and study the required material prior to attending one of our classes.By doing this all requirements can be reviewed by our instructor and tested on white water in as little as one day. Courses are customized to meet the needs of a particular troop. One, two, three or four day classes are available. We will be happy to set up a course to suit your needs and budget.
