Cheat River (Class III-V)

The ever changing conditions on the largest free flowing Class IV - V rivers in the East will bring a new challenge every time you experience the mighty Cheat River. All of our trips now have a guide in each raft to give you personal instruction on how to navigate this awesome river. Being a free flowing river means that we take advantage of the water that's available, accordingly, the Spring is the best season to enjoy this river. Put your paddling skills to the test as you travel through Big Nasty, High Falls and Coliseum rapids as you experience this West Virginia classic. We will meet at our outpost on the banks of the river at the launch area where we have wetsuit rentals and then we will outfit you in lifejackets and helmets for a ride on the wild side. All you need is a passion for the outdoors and a desire to enjoy one of the classic whitewater runs in the East.
Cheat Wild Side Option!
Take a ride on the wild side with this Cheat River upgrade. For an additional $20 per person, we will use the maximum performance
craft suitable for each day's water level. During lower water levels, the craft of choice is a duckie, a small one or two person craft.
During higher water levels our smaller, more maneuverable self-bailing rafts will carry you and your guide down the mighty Cheat. And for those in-between days we will utilize our highest quality four or six person self-bailing rafts.

TRIP FACTS
Here are a few things that you should know about this river tour. |
- The tour is offered from April to June.
- The skill level of this tour is 3 on a scale of 1 to 4.
- You will experience class IV and V rapids. This tour is for experienced rafters only.
- 14 is the reccommended age of the rafter on this tour.
- Estimated rafting time is six hours. These do vary so please don't hold us to it.
- You will receive a deli style lunch at the river's edge.
